“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you”. . .”
2 Corinthians 12:9
Whether you’ve been tormented by your past, by temptation or guilt, Paul was a guy who could certainly understand hardship. Tormented by visions, Paul went to God pleading, “Help me out, God! You’ve got to take this burden away. It’s too much to bear!”
God’s reply came simply yet wonderfully as He turned to Paul and said “My grace is sufficient for you.”
In Webster‘s Dictionary you will find the term ‘sufficient’ . . .
Sufficient – enough to meet the needs of any situation.
God told Paul that through trial and tribulation His grace would be enough. Just as it was enough for Sarah as she bore her first child at ninety years old. Just as it was enough for Moses as he led God’s people through the desert. Just as it was enough for Thomas in his doubt and enough for Daniel in the den. In every valley, in every victory, God’s grace proved to be enough.
The same goes for you today. No matter what your temptation or trial. No matter what you are going through. No matter where you are or where you are going. God’s grace is enough.
That same grace that conquered giants, that same grace that scarred the hands of our Savior is yours today. And that grace will always be enough.
