“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Have you ever caught a summer firefly in the palms of your hand? Oh so carefully you place it in the confinement of a mason jar, sitting it in the corner of your bedroom. You wait for a fiery show of embers only to find that what once was an incredible lightshow is now just a mediocre glimmer.
God is a lot like a firefly. When you confine Him to the lengths of your own imagination, you don’t allow Him to put on the magnificent lightshow He is capable of.
When you let God into your life, no matter where, He’s going to shine but if you trust Him enough to let Him out of your jar . . . He’s going to light up your life like the fourth of July!
God shines best when given free reign. Although you cannot imagine a greater answer to your prayer, while you cannot see any happily ever after ending any greater than the chapter you are in right now . . . God’s grace is the kind that can turn the page to something so much more wondrous than you can fathom.
Let God out of your jar. When you take the lid off His sovereignty, He’s going to rock your world.
